Alpaca fibers are among the softest of all animal fibers. Alpaca
fiber is seven times warmer and three times stronger than sheep's
wool and does not have the "prickle factor" (itchiness)
associated with many animal fibers. Alpaca fleece does not contain
the lanolin oils that some people are allergic to in sheep's wool.
Alpaca fleece grows naturally in 22 different colors - more than
any other fiber-producing animal. Products made from this exquisite
fiber are a luxurious pleasure both to the eye and to the touch.

Cedars of Marin is a wonderful place north
of San Francisco that teaches weaving, gardening, animal
care and more to developmentally challenged adults.
They make lovely woven scarves from our Friendly Farm
yarn. These scarves in our store are made by Seth who
works there.
